Puerto Rican music producer Flow La Movie, his long-time partner and their 4-year-old son were among nine people killed when the small plane they were aboard crashed in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday, reports said.
The plane, carrying seven passengers and two crew members, was bound for Orlando, Florida when it went down while trying to land shortly after taking off from El Higüero airport, the aircraft’s operating company, Helidosa Aviation Group, said on Twitter.
It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the pilots to scrap the flight, but they were trying to land at Las Americas International Airport in the Dominican Republic capital of Santo Domingo, the company said.
The music producer, whose real name is José Ángel Hernández, was aboard the flight with six relatives, according to Helidosa Aviation.
One of the other victims was Debbie Von Marie Jiménez Garcia, 31, identified by People as Flow’s partner of seven years.
Jayden Hernandez, the couple’s 4-year-old son, was also killed, the report said.
Helidosa Aviation identified the other deceased relatives as Keilyan Hernandez, Yeilianys Jeishlimar Melendez Jimenez and Jesiel Yabdiel Silva.
The two dead crew members were Luis Alberto Eljuri and Víctor Emilio Herrera, the company said.
Flow was known for his production of Urban Latin songs such as “Te Boté.”
He also produced “La Jeepeta” by Nio Garcia, Brray and Juanka and “Wow Remix,” in which artists Bryant Myers, Arcangel, Nicky Jam, El Alfa and Darell participated.
